Take the quiz

Have you ever wondered how to put a label on your design style?

I'm still searching for those perfect few descriptive words that encapsulate my individual style. Emma's helping me fine tune it.

In the meantime, I took the iscd quiz to see what they suggest . . .

Modular Living?

This was the first one that popped up after I completed the quiz. And it couldn't have got me more wrong.

Your space is quite minimalist.
Your living spaces are simple and unadorned.
Every space is rational and reduced to your fundamental needs.
There is no need for excess.

You have got to be kidding! Have you seen my bedroom!?

Nope, not happy with that one so I took the test again and tried to sway it.

Sleek New Earth.

You love the outdoors and bring them into your living environment.
You consider the technological side of your space.
You bring trends that complement your lifestyle into your home.

Hmm, not really an outdoors girl myself but I do love big bunches of fresh flowers, so is that what they could be referring to? Not too sure about the technological side. This is the girl who still buys CDs and doesn't have an iTunes account. Oh, and I also have a VHS player. Yep.

So let's try again.

High Street Classic

You collect key pieces over time.
Rich and luxurious objects appeal to you.
Your home is a temple to all you love.
Beloved memories fill your home.
You balance function with excess.
You enjoy the finer things in life.
Trends are integrated into your home.

Okay, now we're getting there. I still don't think it's me to a tee, but an improvement on the other two.

I think I need something with 'colour' and 'preppy' or 'pop' or maybe 'barefoot elegance'. Nope, still nothing.

To borrow from the gorgeous Anna Spiro, she describes her style as 'collected, colourful, layered, comfortable, interchangeable, interesting, unexpected.'

I like that. Something to work towards.

How would you describe your style? Go on, try and wrap it up in five words or less.

Take the quiz for yourself here and create your own Magazine Cover!

I hope you have more luck than me!

When there's a Wills, there's a way

If I was in London this year, this is where I'd be doing my Christmas shopping.

Oh how I love a Jack Wills gift!

Oh so Great

Cannot WAIT for Baz Luhrmann's latest masterpiece, The Great Gatsby.

What a wonderful cast Baz has to play with. I think Jude Law could've been fabulous in the lead role as well.

Sydney's Centennial Park looked a treat in all its blooming glory on the weekend. Long Island it is not, but our film industry sure knows how to make it work and has proven we can mix it with the best of them.

Winning combination

Some more inspiration for tomorrow.

Kristie Clements would approve.

I'm thinking flats, colour, bright jewels and a big smile.

Should be a winning combination. If only it was as easy as it sounds . . .

An occasion

It's Adelaide's turn to shine at Paspaley Polo in the City this weekend. I'm heading along with some workmates and have been following the trends across the country as the roadshow travels from city to city.

The circus hit Sydney town last week and those locals sure know how to work it.

I don't think I could pull of any of these looks, but I'm pleased to see the effortlessly chic approach most have taken.

Dressing for the occasion is a real bug bare of mine - I can't stand it when people go OTT at a casual affair, or turn up in loafers when the event calls for cocktails and heels.

Kristie Clements of Vogue hit the nail on the head after her visit to the Polo just recently.

In the meantime, I still have nothing to wear!

Horses for courses

Working with horses can be a beautiful thing.

If only it was this stylish every day!

Kara Kihm

With Summer weather making a welcome appearance on the weekend and lots of parties to plan for, I turned to etsy for some wardrobe inspiration.

And boy, was I rewarded!

Let me introduce you to Kara Kihm . . .

Not only is she a fab designer, but also a fellow blogger!

With the formalities over with, let's meet The Erin . . .

Erin likes games of badminton and bubbles by the pool.

And have you met The Fair? Totally gorge!

The Fair likes an outdoors event but is equally as happy with cocktails and canapes in the sunroom. I think I'd like to introduce her to the cricket.

Let's not forget about The Elizabeth Anne. It has Summer written all over it!

Not too long, not too short and with the perfect amount of frill, Elizabeth Anne is a welcome attendee at any soiree!

And then my two favourite gals - The Amanda and The Lily.

These lovelies are the best of friends and list weddings as their favourite days out.

Bewdiful. I'll have one in every colour thanks!

And for my Christmas ensemble?

The Madee.

It just screams festive and fun!

Make sure you stop by her etsy shop for more colourful pieces.

Rightly Royal

News flash.

Princess Mary is back on the radar. Well, she's never been off.

Isn't she divine? I just adore the woman - I think it's because she's just so natural. So effortlessly cool. Poised, eloquent, warm and engaging.

Need my hairdresser to take note of her hair colour.

Cooking with Matt Moran. I never look that good in the kitchen!

And those orange shoes are so much fun - flat can be good!

And where can I get my hands on those sunnies? Ever so stylish. I need them!

And with Quentin Bryce - the Queen of Style in Australia. I loved her classy ensembles when the President was visiting. And she shines again in hot pink here.

Don't get me started on Mary's outfit. Perfection. That camel belt!? Nailed it.

As for accessorising? Frederik's not a bad handbag. No, not at all.

And those twinnies!

Bridal party

Vogue has put together a list of six must-see wedding movies . . . and I, the eternal bridesmaid who prides herself on all things wedding, have to admit I haven't seen them all!

I've actually only seen three - looks like I'm going to have to rethink my 'professional bridesmaid' title and hand back my bouquet until I've picked up the slack!

Now, I think there are some gaps in this list. Number one, of course, is my all time favourite wedding movie, maybe even movie full stop . . .

I could watch it over and over and over again.

And then there's my autobiography . . .

So much for always the bridesmaid, never the bride - she snags the hotbox journalist at the end.

There's hope for me yet!

And because I love a sing-along . . .

Any others you'd like to add to the list?
